Julie Tall owned and operated Capitol Cider for 10 years before joining forces with Ton and Rich to open a stir in the former Capitol Cider location. Julie is motivated to continue building arts and community in Capitol Hill, as well as maintain a dedicated gluten-free kitchen and the best-curated cider selection in the country.

after a long career in product management, Ton eventually leaned into his passion for food. during one of his midlife crises, instead of buying an expensive car (as any self-respecting burned-out corporate hack would), he trained to become a Culinarian. he managed the food and beverage program at Seattle Tennis Club, instructed and ‘dean’ed at the Seattle Culinary Academy, ran a catering company (esca) and co-founded Locus Wines’ food-forward tasting room, before zooming in on a stir.

Rich's story is quite usual: boy goes to the University of Washington (and becomes a proud husky). boy gets a finance degree and then a corporate job, and then boy grows up. somewhere along the way, he finds his passion in wine, and started making his own even before getting his Oenology certificate from Washington State University, all while maintaining his corporate job. as we said, quite usual. Rich is the resident winemaker at Locus Wines in Pioneer Square, bringing his hospitality and beverage expertise to the team at a stir.
